Walking Against the "Peace Process"

Just got home after running some errands downtown (Jerusalem, I remind you). All the main traffic arteries are blocked, with cars and buses standing with idle motors (bad) in multi-mile traffic jams. The side streets aren't much better, though I did manage to find a tiny alley in Rehavia that wasn't clogged. The reason for all this? Condoleeza Rice is in town, pretending there is going to be peace in 2008, and someone had the bright idea of sealing off her route from somewhere to somewhere else at least an hour before she took it.

Me, I'm a walker, so I managed to get from here to town and back as if there was no "peace process."
